L322 Electrical issue when hot

Hi,
I have a 2004 4.4 petrol L322 that won't go to sleep when it is hot and switches the brake lights on when the ignition is switched to 0.
Symptoms a many but consistent.
As the overall temperature of the car increases the radio will disappear and sometimes reappear on the information system. If the temp isn't that high and a stop then restart the radio will be turned all the way down if its hot the radio will not switch on.
The parking sensors fail when hot.
If I leave the lights on switch off engine then lights I get no headlight delay warning.
ODBC link stays awake when ignition off and key out of car.
The information system TV and nav stay awake.

Once the car cools down then everything returns to normal it's been driving me mad have changed battery and LCM but it has not made any difference.

Does anyone out there have any suggestions of what could be causing it.

Sounds like you need to get the car hotter, one gallon of unleaded and a box of Swan Vestas.;):D Sorry, I cannot help with electrickery,​
 
I did read this earlier and I have been mulling it over for the last few hours.....the only thing(s) I can suggest would be to begin looking at fuse boxes for loose connections or duff relays that begin to breakdown when warm....The E-box under the bonnet would be a good place to start.

Checking for damp in the rear quarters is a must as well as ensuring security of all components and connections to all the ECU's (and there are a lot of them!)
 
Thanks I have been through most on the connections in the box under th bonnet but might try again and pull the boxes out to see if any obvious signs of overheat etc. I haven't stated on the boot but will do soon.
I did wonder if it could be corrosion on the fuse box but really don't want to start pulling it out until I have tried the back.
Stealers tested ignition and bcd and they were both ok.
last time I got the car hot enough to cause the problem the left front ride height sensor failed and raised the quarter up dropped down again when cold.
Not bad for a car with 2 owners and full RR dealer history lol
 
Apologies for not updating the above but I had a few other more serious issues that needed fixing first. So last week I pulled all the fuses in the rear fuse box and nothing changed. Today the battery was so low from the lights being on overnight again that the usual way of fixing the issue which is to wait for the car to cool down and then turn the ignition on and off wouldn't work because there is not enough power to switch the ignition on so I emptied the front fuse box but the lights are still on..... not sure how that can happen. Anyone have any ideas where I can look now.
 
Chexk the LCM for dampness....

It is mounted on the drivers side (UK) A pillar tucked up the side of the of the dashboard.

Sometimes damp can get to the LCM and corrode the connections or fry the board.

The LCM is the Lighting Control Module.....this is what controls all the lights on the car!

Thanks for the reply. The LCM was changed for a new one a few months ago when the issue started so I don't think it is that. Some of the other symptoms are that when cooled and I open their door I get the door open warning, if the headlights are turned on then off no headlight delay, the parking sensors won't turn on but fine at other times once the lights reset. It's almost like the car thinks the ignition is stil on but only for some of the systems.

I am probably going to give it to a garage to fix soon but want to narrow it down first already spent lots trying to fix it. Ideally hoping to be able to unplug something and have the lights switch off.
 
Just a little update to this in case anyone is wondering. I still have not been able to find the cause however when the weather was warm I had the aircon on full blast and after a while some of the issues went away and as long as I cool the interior of the car down to almost absolute zero the brake lights don't switch on when I turn the car off, the entertainment system comes back on and the parking sensors work although only on the manual switch. The only problem now is I risk getting hypothermia. Will be taking the dash out this weekend to see if there is any obvious issues but I am beginning to suspect it could be one of the boxes behind the dash breaking down when hot.

It may be that what you are actually doing is reducing the humidity. Electronics do not like high humidity and the L322 is notorious for water leaks in the nearside rear where all the gubbins resides.
