am fitting a CTEC battery monitor and slow charger, there are crocodile clips and eyelets to chose from for connecting to the battery terminal.

question - would this be ok to use the eyelets of course and go to the battery terminals or as when jump starting etc. use the points on top of the inner wing (Positive and earth bolt)

thanks

I just use the clips when I attatch my maintenance charger to the battery, soon to be used again.:D

Have used the crocodile clips for the last couple of months as I only use her a couple of times a month. Don't mind lifting the bonnet now and again as I consider it a small workout !!!

I used an optimate 6 on mine as they have ring connectors that are held in place on top of the battery terminal with a nut and the other end is a waterproof connector. When I was using a solar charger I ran the cable out under the wing by the battery and in through the door shut by the hinges and into the glovebox. They are designed to be left out in an accessible place under the car as the connection has a weather proof cap.
I bought a long extension cable off eBay with the same two way weather proof connector. I'll try and find some fots

I think I bought two of the weather proof cap leads and either cut the ring connectors off and soldered on another SAE connector or I bought a weather proof cap with an SAE connector instead of ring connectors.
Something like that anyway

thanks, yes a good idea. the leads on the CTEK one are waterproof and I to have got an extension lead for it.

I seem to remember the clamps used for the battery terminals have just enough thread exposed to attach the ring connectors with a shake proof nut
