Krown rust protection

I have the application center just down the road from me so thought I'd give it a go.
Seems to be very popular in Canada/USA.

I'm in the UK, I think there's only one center here.

I hate traditional undercoating with a passion, so thought it's worth a go

I had it done today,
Unfortunately the pics I took turned out really bad, poor lighting and cheap phone.

Its an oil based clear spray.
They start off on the top, going through all the doors (inside the box sections) , hinges, joints ect cleaning it up with the airline first, and a wire brush where needed.


Then around all the engine and bulkhead


Wheels off to use the wire brush to get some flaky stuff off, then all blown off with an airline.



Once cleaned up, it gets absolutely soaked in the oil, in all the cavitys through the holes using different spray attachments, went over it all a few times to make sure nothing was missed.
Run a long hose down the chassis with the 360 degrees nozzles, he did it quite a few times to make sure the inside the chassis was properly coated.



Personally I think it's well worth it,
I prefer this over the usual slapping a lot of underseal like treatment on.
Bare in mind though, my chassis and body is mint, if you have a crusty one you really need to clean it all up first.

How much and where is it?

£320 for the full treatment on a defender, I got 10% off though as I had my jag done too.
Bit expensive I know but I only need to top it up every 2 years.

It's certainly cheaper than the amount i got charged in kent, they ignored my request to use dinytrol and just got some american un-named boat treatment spray that cost 40quid and charged me 420. I could have just refused to pay as it wasn't what i requested but i was taking it away on holiday the next weekend and didn't need the problems with the wife if we had to spend more money hiring, they tell me they use it on all their own vehicles with no problem .

Is it a drying underseal product?
I think the prep work needs to be perfect or it does more harm then good, I'm always wary it's not been done properly so I've never had anything like that done.

This is kinda like when you have an oil leak and it stops it rusting, prep work is minimal.

One thing I've noticed is that my steering now feels more responsive and tight going straight ahead, so I have a feeling it has swollen the bushes slightly, not sure if this is good or bad, time will tell but it definitely feels better at the moment.
