Key Fobs Not Working

Hi all thanks for the add.I live in Oulton near Lowestoft and I have had my 2010 Freelander 2 for just over a couple of years. I have had one two problems like the Haldex oil pump packing up and couple of minor faults but on the whole it's been a good motor.
I do have a new problem which is that battery had run down after charging the battery now the key fobs will not lock or unlock the car.I don't think that it would be the fobs as it seems unlikly that they would both fail at exactly the same time.Also when I turn the ignition on by pressing the start button without pushing the brake pedal down none of the dash lights come on Has anyone else had this problem?

If it's anything like mine, the fobs need syncing with the car
As for pressing the brake to start, a lot of modern cars require this

HI thanks for the info I think you could be right about syncing the fobs. I will have to find out how to do it
