Hi everyone, my 1996ish Disco V8 been being a bit of a pain lately. Of course - some bits are 1995, others 1996, still more seem to have been whatever was lying around the factory at the time! It only really gets used as a tow-car for horse trailer but until recently has been very well behaved.

Have recently got it back after a lot of hassle locating an intermittently faulty fuel pump(?) relay - since then, it has been passive rearming the immobiliser. Anyway, sometimes the keyfob didn't work to open the doors but it seemed better if I opened up the fob and squeezed the battery a bit. Thought it must be a dodgy battery so got some nice new ones and just replaced it. :( None of the turning the ignition key etc etc, pressing the button 4 times etc.. oops!
OK - so does it really matter?
where should the eka code be - on a card in the handbook (I hope!)??
how do I reset everything (assuming the keyfob is actually working ok)
errr.. any other useful advice for a rather clueless (but keen to learn) female. :)

Thanks for reading - if you got this far!

Fobs can loose the tuning according to Remote Key, understandable as they may have been droped a few times.

Remote Key will referb your fob so go to their site for more info.

The override code would have come on a card placed in the pocket of the handbook cover but a Land Rover main dealer can supply it as it's on the vehicle data base at LR.

Pressing the battery would not resolve a battery problem!
You'll probably find the soldered connections on the PCB where the battery carrier is connected have broken and need re soldering as when you press the battery this is making the contacts connect again!
Re-solder the connections then press both buttons several time and it should re-sync, if not disconnect the vehicle battery for 10 mins and repeat pressing the remote buttons!
Hope that helps!

I had no end of problems with mine it's worth getting a new fob in the long run. Ss for the EAK code Land Rover never recorded one for mine so fingers crossed for you. I also found some dealers wanted to charge but some are free.

you reset the immobaliser with the key on the drivers door, turn it one way then the other in the specified code sequence like opening a safe? or is this just the Disco2?
