key fob change?

hi,i have a spare remote key fob with my 2000 freelander but it does not work,ive tried a new battery and tried to re programed it but no luck.I have seen the same type going on ebay and would like to know if i bought one of these can i re program to my landy??cheers

You need full diagnostics to reprog any new or secondhand fob, that is match it to the ECU

When you put in a new battery did you plip either of the buttons 3 times in a row to re-sync ?
