I am a long time Land Rover fan having first known a 109 S3 as a child in West Africa where it was both the family car and our unfailing transport on long and distant adventures. Now I buy my own and am on my third Discovery.
While my beloved Disco 300tdi was last getting some welding, I borrowed a loaner 200tdi. I was amazed at the power! Compared to mine it leapt away as soon as the turbo kicked in. Since getting mine back I've been in search of comparable performance. Of course, it could be that 200tdis were that much better but that seems unlikely or irrational. Still so far I've removed the EGR system and cleaned the intake but I havn't found the missing urge yet. For me this is the start of a serious search!
