Before I checked it over quickly (since raining) replaced all the rear bulbs

Brake pipe corrosion
Front brake imbalance
Front light alignment

Booked in for pipes, I'll sort the headlamp this weekend and regrease the brake sliders if not raining.

Mine failed on brake pipe corrosion a couple of years ago. I done mine myself. It is very easy to be honest , with access to all areas good.

Not in the cold and wet on my drive though.

Headlamp aim will be the most awkwards, MAY need new light unit

For what it would cost stuff it man with ramp and warm garage can do it

I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that it's going to need a new headlight unit too soon. It could be something as cheap and easy to sort out as the levelling gear; the little plastic cup things which fasten to the levelling motor gear pegs.
The headlight aim is also easy to adjust, use a flat blade screwdriver to sort of pick each adjuster wheel (horizontal and vertical) around. Set the dipped light for 1.2 degrees down and parallel.

Just remembered I had headlight issues too. The white plastic socket the lamp clipped into had cracked. Luckily I had spares I had robbed off a scrap Disco.
Edit
This is them. Just in case you have same issue ;)

Mine is facelift so may not be the same sort

I will do the number plate bulbs (worked on way home) brake pads and sliders it dry enough and the headlamp aim

MOT tester can do the pipes.

I will probably be bunging him some money later in the year to borrow the ramp for ACE repairs

Oh drove there no issue, over the snow and ice, nearly fell over after I got out of my Discovery.

Also managed an interesting comparison when I had a lift to the office.

Pull out onto main road, D2 TD5 over 50mph by the next sign, D1 TDI300 hits 30.

TD5s are something else!

Well the headlamp has broken on an internal bracket, just glueing it back together now.

Will be looking for a new unit later in year
