My wife LOVES England. And she loves her Hippo. She requested to have a "genuine" British license plate on the front, and I obliged.

So this morning she came up with something new. She wants a genuine British dealer spare wheel cover! One with the LR logo, and all other info for the dealer! It needs to be new, or "as new", no tares, no scuffs, etc.

I spent couple of hours searching the web, and came up empty. So here it goes,.......since most of you trash your spare wheel covers (you don't need them, there is NO sun damage in England!! LOL), why don't you look through the junk in your garage, and send me a pic of your unwanted wheel cover, and the price you want for it? FREE fish and chips + the pint for you!! We can do PayPal if you want.

If nobody wants to part with his cover, how about sourcing one from the local dealer in your area? The word is that MANY dealers put these on LRs as "free advertising", and most people take them off after the service.

Her Hippo has the San Diego dealer cover (with LR logo), and if one fancies a trade, we can do that too (maybe show off over there that your Hippo was serviced in San Diego?).

Let me know, and pics are encouraged/appriciated.

Mine was in a right state (not a United State either!)

If I had a decent one I would send it for the postage costs!

Need to know what size tyres you have though to be sure of fit!

Mine had a computer repair business name on it - sprayed over but it was still readable ...looks miles better without it :)

there's a few on ebay, and a couple of companies who will make you a brand new one to order in any design you want.

(I know this because my insurance company got me a brand new one made as part of the repairs to the tailgate)

like this:

Land Rover Freelander 1 Spare Wheel Cover - HGM00001 | eBay

We looked on Ebay (USA), and didn't find anything she liked. Basically, she wants an original UK dealer cover, not something "made up". Short of calling UK dealers, and asking if they have some, I'm lost. The link you provided, she likes, but they state in the auction "UK buyers only".

If you need something sent over to you I'd be happy to sort it out for you, I send stuff worldwide as it is (people on here also get stuff sent to me to send to them from companies who won't ship outside UK).

Thank you. Let's see what the members have in their garages first, and if wife doesn't like any of that, I might take you up on your offer. I'm sure UK dealers have these in stock. Rigid covers are hard to ship, but softies can be folded, and shipped easily.
My wife is a kind that traded her new Benz, for another new Benz, once a year (she's been known to trade the new truck when it needed new tires, rather than buy the tires!), and now she fell in LOVE over 02 Hippo, that I found on the junkyard!! Go figure.
Since we have three rescued dogs (out of four), and three rescued horses (out of six), she thinks of the Hippo, as "being rescued" from the certain destruction at the junkyard! I think that the moniker "Hippo" did it for her. Once I told her that this thing is called "Hippo", she was hooked. I called my RR "The Fat Britt" (no offence), and she wanted me to rename it to "Rhino"! Oh well. I'm still nuts about her. She can have it anyway she wants it.

No more new cars, no more payments, no more games.

Think of the money you'll save! Women can be so fickle sometimes!!

I might even have a box on the roof of my office that my spare wheel cover came in, I'll go have a look.

Not about money. I am a retired military officer, and I have a nice pension, but she makes more than double of my income.
