Hi,
After trying and failing to establish communication with them, I did a search on here and found other posters with the same problem. They won't discuss anything on the phone and ignore my emails. I have opened a dispute with paypal and still have had no response from them.
I can't understand such poor service in this day and age.
Brian

Guy on anther forum from Australia, ordered stuff from them on the 23rd of December and the order was marked as progressing,
after a month of emails with no response, he asked if they were still trading.
I got him to message me the details of his order and contacted Island by phone the next day.
Informed that they had been busy over the Festive period and had forgot to add the tracking details of the parcel.
Parcel did arrive the following week, but no excuse for poor service.

That said I've used them loads of times and not had a problem myself but do keep reading posts regarding their poor service :-(

When I bought my Britpart Lynx off them 8th January, it arrived ok. But regarding another order I placed a week later it is still processing and I cannot get them to communicate about this. I can't understand why when I phone they can't pass the message onto the sales 'team' to call me back.

Lol sales team, their a 35 minute drive for me and when I need stuff from them i drive there to collect it I recently bought a small part total about £2 real cost but island and landrover cost £47 but couldn't for the life of me get a hose the same diameter any where sooooooo stumped up the cash it was Saturday 2 blokes turned up in a new shiney range rover and I mean brand new nice enuff when they served me or 1 did why the other restocked the oil in the front of the counter. I don't think there was a lot of order processing going on but what do I know

Ifinally got my money refunded by opening a paypal case. All's well that ends well, but they need to sort out their communication problems.
Too late....you've already added to the list of negative things said about them that you found in your original search. Maybe you should have given them a little more time before giving them bad press. They must deal with hundreds of orders every week. Not all are going to go smoothly.

To be fair having to resort to a refund from PayPal deserves bad press.

They have always been good to me. I arrived in dover from switzrland with a knackered prop and leaking injectors. an hour and a half later I was sorted. no online order just turned up.
Delivery is usually next day, and the take paypal which gives protection.
The Ferrari place gives an interesting soundtrack against the rattle of 2.5 TD!

Remember we only heard one side of a story.

Very true, I'm not a fan of slagging companies without hearing both sides. The key to resolving issues is communication and this appears to be where Island have let themselves down.

I'm not taking sides but pointing out resorting to a refund from a 3rd party doesn't absolve the company of fault. If anything it suggests the opposite but not conclusively.

I've had cockups with orders from major suppliers, it's annoying, sometimes extremely but as pointed out the volumes of sales make it inevitable from time to time.

Lack of communication and a visible prioritising of issues will earn a company a bad rep and if PayPal got to it first they cocked up.

I wasn't complimenting them. Their communication is dreadful. There are thousands upon thousands of places dealing online and I have only come across a couple that have communication set-up this bad. There is no excuse for not replying to a customer.

I know you weren't o_O
You have 69 posts since joining. Do you only post when you need something, and to moan about a company who, on the whole, give top class service to many LR owners.

Is it any of your business? I don't think I have ever bothered criticizing any other company online, but it is my prerogative to do so if I wish. I am not the only one to think their communication should be better. There have been a few posts on here. I am not saying they are a bad company - just that they should reply when messaged.

Island is my "go to" supplier - i spend more with them than all the others combined.

Im hoping i dont get a bad situation with them - id have to find somewhere else!

Brilliant :D....a guy posts on an open forum, someone responds (obviously not with the answer he wants to hear) and then asks "is it any of your business".

If anyone questioned my integrity on how I use LZ I might get a little more direct than asking if it was any of your business :p

Oh.....They have
