109 front Hub. I can't remember talking these parts of off nor was there a large Washer either. But according to Diagram theses are bit's I need. The spirolox ring just flops about.
It is 1970 but I have used parts from 2 different spare axles. Neither definitely didn't have these bit's onWhat year is your 109? 1981 ish?
Think I just need a big washer before the big nut on end, just doesn't look right with parts I have.Ah. could be a post rationalisation axle. The lock nut suggests it. Different parts needed.
, I got these felt seal thingys RTC3515, in the wheelbearing kits but they do not go over end they are way to small, but think they were on when I stripped it down, there was no 571922 washers as I would have kept them. So not sure what the hell I need now. The 2 bits in my first post above just do not look right at all but this Diagram below is for 88in - Up to June 1980. so really Confused nowYes, two different axle types, I think you've bits from both. Have you got the parts book?
Yes 24, is there I different felt seal for 24sHow many splines on your hand shaft outers? I think it's 24. So you need the post 1980 parts.
Your right mate I found a 10 spline and they fit perfect. Looks like I do have the right bits after all, but how does the spirolox ring go on it's slightly larger, Is it supposed to snap into gap like circlip ?The felt seals are only for 10 spline shafts.
Thanks I have new O rings on flange, So do you just have the big nut on the end tightened up to drive flange ?This is mine, 1981 LWB axle.View attachment 242454
Well theres no way I can get that stupid Spirolox ring thingy to snap in. Think I will just leave it and spacer out and use only the big nut with split pin, Is there a socket that fits this nut ? cant find one yet, or is there some kind of special tool to tighten them ?Yes, but I've had an issue with one side. The hub cap keeps pressurising, so I suspect something is wrong. One of these days I'll strip it down and find out why.
There may be a seal under the nut.
