Is this one dodgy or just very very wrong?

I like it - I'd like it even more if it wasn't a '65 Defender. Just not legal in any way shape or form from what I can see. Just another stupid #### trying to save a few quid road tax.
He's obviously spent much time and money building it. What a pity if it was crushed.

Hmmmm????

Now there are various laws about things stuck to windscreens obstructing the drivers view of the road. What about obstructions on the bonnet blocking a clear view of the road?

I don't know why some on here moan about the free road tax issue, it's a blown Chevy V8 FFS, running that will more than cover the road tax in the fuel duty. I don't see the same moaning about people running on veg oil and not paying the duty on that, Jesus, hypocrisy, "ooooh, oooh, teacher, he is not paying road tax" look at it, it's a toy, hardly an everyday Landy is it?

There is nothing on that vehicle that even vaguely resembles a 60's land rover. Illegal as ####. Tax free status? - its supposed to be a HISTORIC vehicle and that little bit of tax exemption helps those with genuine old landys to keep them on the road.

Nobody's complaining about historic vehicle not paying tax, what they are complaining about is people using the ID on stolen later models.

It's the theft that winds most people up, not a piddling bit of tax.

I agree on arseholes ringing stolen Landys, given that this Landy in question is rather distinctive and unique, I doubt it is a ringer.

what do you mean you doubt it's a ringer?

it's a 90 on coils.. there is nothing 2a about that at all. sorry, maybe what's left of the the bonnet and slam.

even if someone was loopy enough to start with a series and turn it into a cut up 90.. it would fail the points test for the id.

So why use the older ID if it's all obtained legally?

No doubt some poor sod will buy it and find it's already been reported to VOSA or whatever they're called now.

Fair enough comments, but it's still a bit loud to be an intentional ringer, there has been a ton of cash invested in the engine alone, wait a minute, time out, why the dickins am I justifying someone else's Landrover to what is obviously the Landrover Police.

Just think people should be careful calling people potential criminals on a publicly accessible website without seeing the vehicle first hand and or speaking with the purveyor, to establish guilt, or is more satisfying to grass on them to VOSA? I have never seen such a culture like this with any other type of vehicle before, I thought the people associated with classic Lotus cars had issues.
