Is this hose a winch motor breather?

Can anybody shed some light on this???

It looks like some kind of winch motor breather hose. It is connected to the motor and piped to what looks like the airbox or something...

Just received this from Warn -

Electric motors needs to be vented to the atmosphere, the bolt with the fitting coming out threads into a motor, this is the vent for the motor. The hose is the vent tube and we recommend that you attach it to the air intake box for the engine. This will prevent water from entering the winch motor is ever submerged.
