Is this a Landy 2.5ltr i cant find an engine number?

Hi All

I bought a S3 with the front modifyed to look like a defender, it also has a diferent engine. I have asked the local garage and they could not find the engine number so can anyone from my poor pics tell me if it is a landy 2.5ltr lump?

looks like sherpa engine ,basically the same as lr engine engine no is either on flat below front cam gallery near injection pump or on water pump gallery just behind left hand side of pump as sitting in car,sherpa engine are easyily identified as having tin front cover
