They're competing in a global market

Remember all the vintage bike companies

Villiers, Rudge, BSA etc etc they all went under because they produced bikes nobody wanted

If land rover don't keep up they'll go the same way, very few concept cars look like the original prototype so I expect it'll be toned down when it hits the market

It looks a bit like a BMW Mini. I can't see that being used as a day-to-day workhorse on your average British farm to be honest.

Has LR decided to hand over that market segment to Toyota and Nissan?

There is a market for soft 4x4 but there is the rav 4 for that, only land rover sells a 4x4 that can be used on a farm and in a city, the defender is a great looking car! i cant imagine any of these concepts ever being restoration projects!

The defender we currently see is likely to be still built but in india with parts made in uk. Cant be made in uk due to all cars after 2015 having to have monocoque chassis.

the new defender is going to be based on the t5 ladder chassis and built in india then shipped over here...its all about cost. cheaper to build over there than here. not seen anything regarding the chassis been illegal after 2015
thats gonna rule a hell of a lot of motors off the road if its true.

I cant see any safety or economical issues with a ladder chassis so i cant see the EU banning them. Hope its not true though otherwise the EU is going to ruin a great car.
