Hi to you tomcat59alan, unfortunately I won't be able to post too much about the old girl, as the language will be far from polite and unfortunately I can't get hold of the vendor, which is a shame as I would like to rip his arms off - to start with ;), however like most P38 owners I do have some little experience, so might be able to offer assistance.

Don't worry we'll soon be on first name terms, you can call me Alan.;):D:D,and you can't beat a bit of effing and jeffing.:D

Just been playing about with the nanocom.
Engine immobilizer is disabled, eka is disabled and i can just put the key in and start up, no problem.
If i lock with the fob, that enables the immobiliser.
In this state the becm will not go into diagnostic mode.
If i unlock with the fob all is good again.
If i enable eka and the immobiliser, when it's in immobilised state, it won't go into dish mode so I'm not able to disable the immobiliser, I'd love to know what's different for you!!

Dish mode?

Disabling immobilisation is just passive immobilisation so that is correct.

Simple test, from a simple person, is the red light on the fob coming on when you press the buttons? I have just seen where you are, so I won't bother with my next suggestion which is a guy who does new keys - unfortunately not the flick type - that he can make using your old key. He's just doing 2 for me as the latest P38 that I have bought had only one key and that didn't work, along with a shed load of other faults that were very well hidden, but coming to light now.
Cheers matey but yes the light works and the becm receives a code from it, just not a valid one?

I've no idea kerms.... :)

IIRC when it reports " invalid code received " it means that the fob was not in sync - i think you would get the same result from any other P38 key (in case you have access to one from another P38). The key sync will not work if the engine is disabled. The engine cd still restart with the key fob in the ignition though (ie as happened for you) ... and the car may keep reverting to an immobilised state after each "ignition off" because it remembers that you didn't unlock the car properly (so you must be stealing it). Now if you enter the EKA with the Nano it should reset the memory it has of you starting the car without unlocking it (or without receiving a valid RF signal). Then you shd be able to resync the fob. Caveat: P38 GEMS

Tbh, I might just not faf about with the eka or any other settings. I think I'm safe at the moment and I remember that I used to unlock my old series 2a with a key and it's not really not that bad and safe!!!!

You little git!!!
So I've changed the reciever from the scrapper to mine and hey presto... Remote controlled locking has been reinstated!

Then I found a bobble of solder that had been bouncing around... Hmmm.

Eventually yes.
The little bit of solder has made me wonder if it has been bouncing around and short/corrupting the fob code...
I may take it back out and try it again without the solder debris hmmmm.

Oops, sorry I didn't update this thread... I replaced the rf reciever for another from the scrapper and the problem was cured. It's turns out a part in the rf had gone bad. Thanks for all the input and help :D the rf is repaired and I'll install it in the coming week and let you know :)
