Hi my name is Simon I have just joined this forum I have a Land Rover discovery TD5 adventure on a 04 plate

And I was just wondering if anyone can help me on this site when I hit 2000 revs and push my foot down hard it Rebs right round but is still pulling I was just wondering if anyone can shed any light on whether I am over boosting

Welcome to the mad house.

Auto or manual?

Auto and maybe the fluid is old and the tranny needs a new frock or if manual then it could be clutch related, overboosting would be all the bells and whistles screaming at you through the dashboards about how unhappy it is.

It revs from 2000 revs up to about 3000 but still keeps pulling it’s the fastest discovery I’ve had

Still not sure what the problem is, you know they rev even higher as well.
Old EGR must have been broken if it made your car quicker.

Welcome by the way...

Now make sure you have the EKA code.
The key works in the door lock.
Get a spare working key and fob.
and find make a friend with the correct diagnostics.

Cheers

What do you mean by the Eka code and the key

No I don’t

OK, then download the RAVE workshop manual. That has an owners manual included. in that you will find the answers you seek.:D

If you do a search for RAVE, top right hand side is the search box. You will find a link by user hippo to a link for the rave files.

Cheers

Thanks I will have a look

Now make sure you have the EKA code. Secret code all LR owners need for when the poo hits the fan
The key works in the door lock. Because it’s not used on many LRs the little arm drops off and you never know till it’s too late:( and a few related to the EKA.
Get a spare working key and fob. 2 working is always a backup (don’t keep it in the glove box:oops:)
and find make a friend with the correct diagnostics. You will need it at some point,if you intend to keep for along time it’s an investment, lots available different prices, look around many threads.

Cheers

Oh and Rave the LR owners bible:)
Enjoy:)
