Lyn lloyd. living in Turangi New Zealand. Have owned S!- converted to diesel, S2, Discovery 300TDI and now a Discovery TD5. Used my series one for 15 years as my hunting wagon and you would not believe where i took that vehicle when hunting. Wild like you would not believe.
Anyway have a problem with my TD5 Will not start in P or N. The XYZ switch does not seem to be at fault as when i turn the ignition on all the dash lights illuminate and all go off as normal except the red battery symbol at the bottom. The red lights alongside the shifter work normally as does the P,R,N,D123 symbol on the dash. these change as i move the shifter through the gears. My battery is perfect as are all the fuses. This one has me stumped at present. Can anyone throw light on what would be causing the red battery symbol to stay on and would whatever this is stop the starting process taking place. rgds Lyn lloyd
