Hi All,
I am having an intermitant fault with the rear windows on my 1998 Disco, most of the time they don't work then they will.
I have had a search for any one having a similar problem but unfortunatley for me they have not.
Any assistance with this would be great.

Trevor.:(

Hi

can you be more specific with the fault.

When you say they dont work, is this from the rear switch, or the front switch or both.
Had a similar problem with a Rangie turned out to be the isolator switch

Derek

Hi Derek,
The windows don't work from any of the switches when not working and they will work from all switches when they are working.
I have changed the isolator switch and this has made no difference.
I have been told their is an ECU located behind the glove box that controls the windows but I am not sure if this is correct or how to change it.:(

Trevor.

hi fox the ecu for the windows is located in the passenger footwell small black bolted up i done mine a couple of years ago it has 1 easy nut to get to and 1 awkward nut so i undone 1 and broke the rear lug it still goes back and holds properly,it does say window lift ecu or similar on box if you remove it carefully prise out the centre piece from memory its held in by 4 little lugs but the centre piece comes out easy enough check the circuit board and im sure you will find 2 desoldered joints, resolder and bobs your uncle,my rear windows did not work when cold odd but true worked a treat and its an easy fix so give it a go save some pennies, all the best tiga
