Interior light keeps coming on due to rear door, any ideas?

Every so often, whilst driving, my interior lights come on to suggest a door has been opened. These will only go off if I then pull over, and open and close the rear door. I am assuming there is some sort of micro switch which needs to be adjusted but on initial inspection I can’t figure out where it would be! Has anyone adjusted the micro switch or found an alternative solution?
Cheers

Summat sticky is sticking now and then ...

No micro switches. The door switches are the plunger type in the door frame, plunger pressed in by the door is off, door open and the plunger springs out and makes the earth in the circuit which turns the interior light on.

….and dependent on age the copper contacts go green and crusty and cease to function as intended - either remove and clean them with some wire wool/contact cleaner (cheap fix) or replace with new ones (less cheap, but still buttons).

Carry on

I was thinking maybe a poor fitting of the door (it is a defender after all) or worn door hinges, resulting in the plunger not going fully home when the door is closed, and the switch intermittently goes into the "on" position when the landy is bouncing along the road. Easily fixed with a sticky pad or two onto the door, where the plunger makes contact.

The light has a 12V feed (permanent) and the courtesy switches close to make an earth connection to the frame (as @Wimblowdriver says). The fronts are in the A pillar just below the door stays.
The rear switch is on the left side of the rear just above that triangular box that hides all the wiring for the rear offside lights. There is a metal 'L shaped' sticky outy bit (technical term) that pushes the switch in when you shut the door.
Ususlly the switches stop working as the contacts corrode/oxidise, for it to come on suggests that the wire maybe loose or worn and is touching the frame somewhere, maybe as it goes into that triangular cover ?
Opening and closing the door makes the plunger/switch move in and out, it moves about 20mm and this does wiggle (another technical term) the wire which dissapears into that 'box'.

Another good point from @Wimblowdriver above ...

And typical of Landrovers, the Rear/Safari door switch is a larger version (longer plunge switch) than those that fit the other doors!

I didn't know that when I fitted one to mine and the light stayed on, that threw me for days ...... I thought the L shaped sticky outy bit was wrong, the door was wrong, i'd wired it back to front ....
