ok, this is my main focus at the moment as frankly, the rest is fine!

We have all lights going on and off manually, apart from the centre one.

When the doors are open the puddle lights come on but not the interior lights

So far i have changed all bulbs, and even replaced the central light unit. I havent electrical tested the new one, but on the old one, there was no power between the two contacts that the bulb on the centre light clicks into, what could be causing this?

i have a differential of
1. a very confusing fusing
2. a circuit issue
3. its a range rover, i bought it as i love tryin to fix it

any help would be MASSIVELY appreciated as not only does this annoy me, but when I have done my leather treatment I want to be able to see the benefits of my graft when i get in it at night!

regards

I have a vaguely similar issue.

The interior light on the driver's-side rear door works from the switch on the light unit, but not when the door is opened. I suspect it's the switch that tells the BECM when the rear door is open (probably on the pillar or hidden within the doorlock mechanism...haven't investigated yet).

However yours is all interior lights so it might be something to do with the BeCM?

hmm, the good ol becm, maybe i do need to give it a clean, but am frankly scared of the implications of buggering it up!

ive done it when it says lights on and lights off, is there a way of setting them if i hold it for longer?

tommy

yes, it beeps and says 'interior lights on' or 'interior lights off' is that what you are implying?

Tommy

Yes, beep and Int Lights On. If all others work apart from main light above mirror, I suspect there's a broken wire or similar.....have you checked with multimeter or continuity tester?

i have done that with the old part, have fitted a new one today and still the same issue which makes me feel its further down the line...

The main interior light at the front, rear load space light and "right interior " lights are operated by the same BECM output, "left interior" lights use a different BECM output. Fuse F15 provides the power. The puddle lamps are operated differently, the fronts via the L & R door outstations and the rears from the BECM. You should have a permanant 12 volts on one wire at the lamp unit as the BECM switches the earth line. According to my copy of RAVE the live wire is Purple. I suppose you have checked the fuse?
