Intercooler cleaning

Hi all i have a 300 tdi and have fitted the EGR blank and going to fit a non cat pipe but am going to clean the intercooler out first. Any suggestions as to what is the best way to do it.

clean it out it petrol mate, then empty it and leave it for a day to dry out, thats all i did, worked fine for me

dont forget to clean the outside fins as well, a crate full of hot soapy water and slosh it about in there...

I bought my disco 2 year ago it had a full intercooler fitted when i bought it how often are you supposed to clean them out

Check the haynes manual. 60k for a defender. If you do a lot of mud plugging its probably worth doing it sooner. Easy enough job, think buster has done a guide in his little section somewhere.

I didnt use it, but im sure its up to scratch. Just follow your nose, you cant go wrong!

I'd go for replys 2 & 3. Just be carefull not to collapse the fins. They are very delicate.
