Intake.manifold removal help!!!

Im about to take my intake manifold off my freelander 1 is there anyrhing I should know before doing this as never done it before? Thanks in advance Dan

Very easy.

You'll need to remove the top engine cover's and get the intake feed and boost pipes out the way first. Remove the boost pipe clips and hoses and cold air intake pipe. Remove the 2 screws that support it, then lift up and pull it out the filter housing, making sure the injector harness is free from the hook.

Then the manifold can be accessed. Remove the 7 recessed nuts from the front intakes of the manifold and the 8 at the rear. There's a cover retainer bracket that comes off the rear too. You'll need to unclip the MAP sensor harness from LH side of the manifold and unlip the plug. There's a pipe on the left that needs unclipping too.

Otherwise it's a pretty easy operation that takes just a few minutes, after some practice!
