That's the last of the floor sound deadening mats fitted, has anyone else used the dynamat system? I have used three boxes in total so hope I get some noticeable results image.jpg

It will have made a diff to his bank account........................

Most people are using closed cell foam and for the cost its a very good alternative. 12 quid for a pack of slot together stable mats or exercise mats make very good sound and heat insulation and if you add a little flashband to thin panels its brill.

Thought about the foam as I used it on another project, but I am looking for a specific finish as I have made leather side panels. This is not a landy I want to sell so cost although important is not critical as I will be spending a lot of miles in it

When I did mine I used an alternative called Silentcoat, I was ripping out the carpet and replacing so seemed like a good time to do this. I used a fair few boxes on my 110, and although it's a bit difficult to measure, in real life situations I can now have a chat with the passenger on the motorway without shouting- and the previous owner had put a piezo buzzer on the flasher relay so he could hear it- It's now really intrusive and I am thinking of disconnecting it. It's probably down to 'old transit van' levels from 'virtually agricultural' if you know what I mean...

Yes, I did this on an old TR6 with the foam but thought that it was a bit better - however on the landy even while working away it seems better. Just put the dash back in today and the sound of the radio has defo improved - looking forward to the first road test

Yes pleased with it, basically the same stuff as Dynamat, did the job. Has minimised all the annoying buzzes and rumbles, and with a slickshift conversion on the gearstick sometimes feels quite civilised. I did inside the doors too, the extra weight from the matting has made them feel less tinny. Used the rest on my Jensen Healey (although it's all a bit pointless with trying to soundproof a convertible with straight through exhaust) but what the hell, it kept the heat down.
