Hi guys,

quick question. Do i need to diconnect the battery to change the alternator?

Doin the job now so quick replies would be very much appreciated.

Cheers

Chris

tis a 4 diget code you will have to enter in the door lock, you can get it free from a stealer but you need your log book, wont give them out over the phone. and i bet you thought it was going to be easy job. j

i do but the guy is off on holliday the now so cant go there. Also my central locking has gone, its the drivers side latch thats away so thinking the eka code entry might not work. Can i not just insulate the live wire away so no contact can occur? Wrap it in a rag etc?

you can try open your drivers window and put your key on number 2. the one befor lights come on. and if you manage it fix your lock. lets know how you get on. j

i'm just gonna go ahead and do job with battery attached and just make sure lives etc dont touch anything other than air. I'll update later if it works and if you's dont hear from me you know it hasnt worked and i've fried myself.

got sidetracked sorting the timing on my boat engine there! Oh i love holidays. Fun work rather than crap work. :)

alternator change successfully with battery attached. Took 5 mins. No eka issues and now no alternator fault coming up on dash display! :) Best 35 quid i've spent in a long time.

sure does j. Just gotta get this pesky door latch done. I'll leave that for another day. Dropped my 10 mil spanner down in between the radiators and cannot find a way in to get it. I can see it through the bottom grille but cannot get into it. Raging. Any ideas?
