Thought it was meant to be simple and back to basics lol, starting off with fancy piecemeal videos...
I'm guessing Sir Jim wants proper marketing to build up interest levels...as if they're not already high...and it is the C21st so modern media and pre-launch videos are the norm' today. Personally, I'm wanting the Grenadier to be what the new Defender should have been, but is not. A really good bus, fit for modern day use...and without 85 ecu's. If they crack this the Grenadier will be very popular

A bit like what the new Suzuki Jimney is, except the Grenadier should be a bit heftier with more grunt.

BMW engines are being used so there should be a few ECU’s

Wasn't sure whether to post this here or Defender thread. Some of us have viewed the new Defender and come away very underwhelmed. Some are also very keen to see the new Ineos Grenadier. They've just announced this month by month video blog...should be fascinating to follow

Watched the vid and thought it was one of those old top gear spoof vids. The last line 'built on purpose' made me laugh.

+1 on the Jimny bit.

All modern cars have ECU's and in multiples. No simple production Legal car won't these days. Even the Defender hasn't done this for nearly 23 years.

As other's have said, I doubt there will be a general production vehicle manufactured anywhere today without an ECU of some sort.

Not sure you can really knock the new Defender for this, vehicle ECU's were introduced in the 70's!
