Hi All,

Just joined, so thought I'd say Hi!

I'm a bit of a hobby farmer, and also work in IT.

I used to have a toyota 4runner, but if something broke, I couldn't drive it out of the garage for less than a grand!

Then I saw the light and bought a '92 200tdi defender 110, ex severn trent water, commercial hard-top. Best 4x4 by far :)

Sadly I had to change jobs and give up my rented land and sheep in 2008, and had to swap the landy for an economical saloon for my new 1.5 hour commute! :(

anyway, now i have halved the commute, and plans are afoot to get back some land and sheep... and of course, a landy!

Defenders are also the perfect cure for my road rage... my saab 93 is not!

the next 12 months are going to be taken up with me decided:... if and how i can afford a landy... whether it will be a range rover or a defender... and if i can afford to replace the engine and chassis/bulkhead with a dihatsu 2.8td and galv parts...

fingers crossed, and safe driving.

Cheers for the welcomes chaps.

Having read through this site A LOT today, I think I may have been correct with my original landrover wishlist - before I started flirting with this flash comfy range rover thing!

landrover defender
200tdi engine (most economical and easiest to fix I understand)
110
county shell which I can convert to double cab + hard-top... but not one of those ifor williams jobs, I want it to be like a proper 110 hard-top but with 4 side doors.
then probably a 2" lift and some serious tarting inside. it'll be a range-defender inside!

there we go... anyone wanna sell me that for £500? no, thought not... shopping starts here...
