Glass pipe? you would have been better dropping the tank, you can check/replace the brake pipes easily with it out of the way:)

Wammers took his tank out and found some woes underneath that needed sorting. Cannot remember exactly what now. Might have been brakes? Either way, I seem to recall that he reckons if you've not had the tank off before it is probably safer to take it out and check / fix everything else under there before resorting to the hole in the floor technique.

Think it's me and Gfromleeds that keep banging on about dropping the tank, him from the burst brake pipe experience and me because when I dropped my tank the pipes were in a terrible state.:)

Correct. The pipe that goes across the back looked fine other than pitted at or about the tube nuts. Decided to change it anyway whilst tank was out. It came out in three pieces totally rotten on the bends at each end that cannot be seen. I made one pipe up from it then split it and put a joint in the middle. Made it a lot easier to get back in. Renewed all the rear pipes and nuts. Jointed them to existing pipes just aft of air tank.
