Hello,

Does any body think that it would be detramental to the power / running of my 200tdi 90 to install an inline fuel filter before my lift pump? Reason being, I am still getting large lumps of debris from the tank through my lift pump and into my main fuel filter and I don't want this damaging the lift pump in any way. I do have a steel gauze braised onto the end of the pick up pipe, but it finds its way through that too. I can also use a clear filter like the one below to diagnose fuel problems should there be any in the future:

Yes,but why not take your tank off and give it a proper swill out with the fuel sender removed?[not hard to do on a landy]

Because it's had it once and the bastid filler neck rotted through. It's not coming off again, definitely not until Summer so I will fit an inline fuel filter up until then. A clear inline fuel filter should allow me to see just how much crap is being drawn up from the tank.
