Hi my p38 was shunted in an accident recently. The alarm went off when using the fob, it then cleared itself but then one night it would not turn over. All lights and electrics work but no turning over.
Tried:
key in door to code sequence.
park / nuetral
spare key
swearing.
no luck or messages on dash display.
RR agents just say new becm £800
Any one got some cheaper ideas
Regards

What age is your car, what engine, does the "check engine" lamp come on when you switch the ignition on? Please give more info,it is likely the engine ECU is not recognising the security code from the body computer. This is a simple operation with testbook to get the engine Ecu to relearn the code.I very much doubt you need any new parts.

look under the passenger seat. IIRR there is a trip switch with a red button. Push The red button in, it will re-set the cut-out. Stop calling yourself THE shedman, youare at best A shedman. www.shedshop.co.uk and you'll understand why.

if your car does everything as it should exept crank with no messages on the instrument pack then get some one with testbook to re-synchronise your security link to the engine ecu, they sometimes have a habbit of losing sync and there are no warnings or messages too tell you :)

this should sort it :)
