ignition problem your help needed guys

Good evening everyone
Yet again I need your knowledge, earlier today went to put some petrol in the RR and everything was fine, went into pay after locking the car via the remote, whilst inside the garage I noticed that the indicator light was on constant? from the remote unlocked and relocked the car all seemed normal. Paid came back to the car unlocked key in the ignition all lights on on dash board as normal turned key and dead as a doe doe. The car is a 98 vogue 50. Any ideas welcomed

Old type RF receiver receiving spurious signals, wet carpet around the BECM for starters.

While waiting I did notice that the carpet and mat felt damp? on the drivers side, what happens then?
