Ignition.....Fast clicking

Hi folks
Ive just reconnected my battery and all I'm getting is a fast clicking when I try to start my landy, any ideas as to the problem, cheers

starter relay is the first relay id check

Cheers James, the clicking is coming from near the gearbox area does this narrow it down a bit

the starter relay is located there on a defender

Thanks again James, how would I go about checking/changing it, Im obviously a complete novice where these things are concerned but Im trying to learn rather than call out the AA

Check battery earth cable is on correctly as well

So Ive found the relays under the drivers seat, from left to right theres 3 a black, yellow, black relay would 1 of these be the starter motor relay if yes which 1.. cheers

The starter relay on Defender Td5 is not under the seat, it's beneath the center console, the left one, clicking relay under the seat might be the main relay which should be yellow on the right side

Do the dash lights flicker with the clicking? Sounds like a flat battery

Which 1 is the starter relay.. cheers

Read again what you quoted: ...... "the left one" = the one on the left side for me
