Idle Check Engine Light

Hi guys and girls

Wondering if anyone has experienced this, I have a 99 disco 2 TD5 and now and then if I do very hard acceleration the idle check engine light pops up. I've checked all caps to make sure they are all tight, the car works fine and nothing changes when the light comes on, and I never accelerate hard unless the engine is warmed up nicely, so not sure what could be happening?

Any advice would be great :)

When was the oil changed last?

Get the codes read, then come back with more info.
 
Hello,

I assume you mean the check engine light ( top left hand group of warning lights on dash), Not sure why you have added "idle" into the name, which is why I am asking?
As above, I would get it plugged into proper diagnostics. Even better if you can do it and replicate the fault.
Also, you may get more responses if you post in the Discovery section, rather than the K&E section.

Yes it is, I heard it can flash too so that's why I put idle on there? Next time its on i'll get it checked out, just wanted to see if anyone had same issue.
 
Hi @Reecebevan12

May help if you put out a shout in the Disco section, as @Speckydude has said there may be someone local to you has a Hawkeye or nanocom that can be plugged in.
Hope you get it sorted, fingers crossed it is a silly little issue.
