If you use Adrian Flux you get a discount for using this forum.

Have you bought one yet?

yes mate i got a 300tdi hard top 110 on Sunday. done 220k with a stack of paper work/history with it. drove it back from glastonbury sunday night drove like a dream. no glow plug light at the min so will be checking that out. back seal on the transfer box is dripping and will get the timing belt done for peace of mind.

A Plan insurance took our membership of this forum as "club membership" for the same purposes....

Looks a nice bus too :)

Any mods on it? I've just swapped from a 4k defender to a 2k discovery and the Disco is 150 quid more a year with flux
The initial quote was twice wot I was paying with Flux as I included carrying stuff for work. I was then advised to ask Academy for agricultural and then commercial (I have a commercial V5) - ended up with a 4x4 specialist. I was never asked about mods (I used to insure with Direct Line but when I had the xtra seats put in they classed that as a mod and refused to insure me). I mentioned the extra seats - they said it was fine.

Looks pretty nice that bud, tracker on order I hope. You've just bought one and I've just sold one :p

Are you doing the timing belt yer sen? If so and you need any tools or owt I'm the other side of Ashby ;)

i think i will do it my self. I'm a mechanical fitter so nuts n bolts are my thing.

what timing tool do you have?

any tips n tricks?

OK thanks for that, maybe that's why. I've gone from a converted 3 seat van back tratter to a 7 seat disco

Just a standard jobber I think it was off ebay with a flywheel locking tool and fuel pump locking pin. I've also got a viscous fan spanner (the undo with opposite thead), four foot breaker bar and a Clarke electric impact gun in case the pulley bolt doesn't want to come undone. There's a really good land rover tool box video on YouTube, I'll see if I can find it....

cheers. I'm a patreon to trailer fitter so i have the full timing video tutorial.

got my pin kit on order. just need to find out weather i have a early or late belt tensioner now.

what landys have you got? you use paddock for parts?
I've got a series 2a that's waiting to be restored, I've just sold my 90 that I've had for 4 years and I've just bought a discovery that initially I bought to strip for parts as I wanted its transfer box in my 90 but it was that nice I've decided to keep it:D

This is currently the 2a:oops: which hopefully today I can strip so I can get the chassis shot blasted and galvanised along with the bulkhead and radiator panel

I tend to use Craddocks more than Paddocks purely because they seem quicker to get to from home and I work in Lichfield if I need to get there on a work night. Although if I'm in no rush I'll also use eBay
