am i wrong to say this?although it is a base model with few thrills,it still is a great looking vehicle, however i have only owned it for 4 weeks, maybe i am being premature.

It's not the Friday afternoon as such, but the fact that the Solihull working week started Tuesday afternoon and finished Thursday morning. Anything built out of that window doesn't stand a chance. Your going to love it.

oh come on, let him enjoy the first thrills of love! she'll be PMS-ing on him soon enough.

roddy, we all love our P38s. they are brilliant cars, just eccentric. they will never ever, run 100% perfect for one entire day. Something will always go wrong or sound funny or deflate or blink etc etc. when you learn to live with that and start figuring out what needs doing first and what can be left till later it becomes an ongoing labour of love and then you're fine. On the flip side, they will very very rarely if ever leave you completely stranded and can be counted on to limp home in some way or another. That's the kind of when-your-back's against-the-wall peace of mind I never had from any other car.

The best thing about them is the community that has built up around them and the fact that every problem you have it's a fair certainty that someone else has had the same problem and fixed it. Be warned you may have to suffer a little ribbing on the way though.

Guts, I don't want to be the fool heading for a fall, but I can put my hand up right now and say that every single day I have driven my P38 has been problem free, a joy and a pleasure and while it does have 90k on the clock and not a splinter of wood for me to touch while I say this, but I'm expecting the rest of the week to be much of the same.

Have I had me tea yet?
