Sorry for annnuver thread about tyres, but jus after bit of advice. I needed summat decent off road, an got offered set of 235/85/16 bronco grizzly claws on LR 8 spoke steelies, for next to nuffink, so I've ad em. I know there pretty ****e and last about 1 mile on road, but they'll do the job for now. Fing is, I've read the tyre size advice fingy, an even wiv me bessy mate Mr Angle Grinder, I aint convinced they gonna fit.

I've got standard 300tdi, no lift or fook all, on stock 235/75/16 roadies. Is a Camel cut to rear wings and removal of front bumper caps gonna do it, or av it got to start hacking away at the wheel arches, as thats ow its looking to me

So, anyone fitted this size tyre on a standard 300tdi, an if so, did ya av any problems (I'm worried they're gonna munch the wheel arches without a lift?)

Cheers,

Bit of a trim to the rear wheel arches and the front bumper ends and you'll be fine. Easier if it's a 3-door but still do able on a 5 door.

A jigsaw is a good tool for cutting the bodywork just hold the panel firmly against the saw to stop it flapping about. Here's mine fitted with 265/75 r16 bfg's. No suspension mods. You don't have to completely remove the end caps you can just trim them.

I have that size broncos on my 300tdi. As said already, camel cut & trim front bumper end caps should do it, although I did rub the front edge of the rear wheelarch last weekend when crossaxled. It just bent the lip over slightly, nothing that a few seconds with a ball pein hammer couldn't resolve.

ok, that settles it, they're going on! thanx for the advice fellas, specially the pic Hughesy that helps.

I'll try and post pics of the end result !

Cheers again.:D

I got 235/85r16 Coopers on my 300, it's had a body lift and a camel cut, but nothing needed on the steering stops.

oh yea grizzly claws a bloody noisy aswel

Noisy? Fook me, thought the world woz ending, even wiv the small amount ov time i spend driving on road, couldn't live wiv them, so swapped for some Machos which are older but quieter. Ive ad to cut quite a lot, and off road last weekend woz still hitting arches, so gonna av to lift it 2".

As a cheapy, woz finking bout the 2" blocks that sit between the axle and the spring plate. Anyone fitted them, and if so they any good?
