Hello, new to the forum, so go easy! I've searched but can't specifically find a similar scenario.
I am a complete noob when it comes to cars.

I have a 55 plate TD4 5 door SW facelift freelander, great car and love it to pieces!

As the weather is getting colder I tried the HRW this morning, it didn't work, the light on the button came on and I heard the click from the relay but it didn't warm up. The only thing I can think of that may have caused this is in march a silly cow reversed into my rear tyre, nearly totalling hers but it only appeared to have moved my bracket slightly, the window still moves up and down but I'm now thinking that there's damage to the HRW relays (as I said I am a complete noob)

Has anyone got an idea on simple test/fix or do you think I'll need to take it into a garage to be looked at? Many thanks!

had this on mine, i removed the inner lining on the back door 4 screws on the bottom and poppers on the sides and unhooks on the top there are 2 electrical blade connectors on the bottom right hand side of rear window these are soldered, on mine one of these fallen off and dropped into the bottom of the door might be worth checking

looking for 12v across the 2 heated screen terminals. if you have 12v but no screen, then the elements are u/s. if you don't have 12v, just a case of working back through the wiring until you find a point that you do
