OK - how do you replace the upstream (i.e., closest to the engine) O2 heated sensors on a 1997 petrol V8 with auto trans?

Sure, you can get at the sensors on the pipe - no problem - but how to get to the connector for the wiring for the sensors which seems to sit on the top of the trani bell-housing - requiring the world's smallest forearms, longest fingers or dropping the trani or all of the aforementioned?

Anyone familiar with this trick?

for future reference - I am replying to this myself: - you pull the distributor pack close to engine firewall and then O2 sensor connectors become relatively less difficult to access
