Insurance is based on risk.

The questions you are asked will provide a risk rating from which your premium is calculated.
They also look at other chances to sell you stuff.
So how to you reduce the risk?

How many cars in your household?
A: as many as possible ( this is a lead generator for them to get your business)

Do you have use of another vehicle
A: YES ( you cant drive two cars at once thus you will not be in the car they are looking to insure 100% of the time.

When is your house insurance due
A : within 15 days ( they want your business so will give you a good car ins price)

Add another driver (female) again this does two things, lowers the percentile of time you will be driving.

Your and the other drivers occupation is a big factor, think about how you describe it very carefully!

get the idea?

Let me be VERY clear here, I am not suggesting you lie, thats a big no no, just think carefully about your answers.
EG use of other cars? Well you should be able to drive any car third party only with owners consent, so basically thats all your friends and families cars etc.

love the advice but any question asked MUST be answered truthfully
Agree totally, but we tend to just gut respond, as opposed to thinking the question through etc.

VW 2009 caddy fully comp £144 per year
Defender TD5 2003 fully comp £180 on average per year and lower this year

Pay in one go never D debit ( use a credit card if you have to works out cheaper!)

I pay £ 210 for Defender and £290 for RRS which I think is reasonable also, wife pays £280 for her car ( Mustang ) but I also have a sports car on a limited mileage policy that is £410! My old TR6 is a classic car insurance - again limited milage and its less than £100! amazing really

Good prices!
I had a 72 MKIV Spitfire with a GT6 Engine, cost me £80 fully comp but did not earn any NCB with it, but at £80 who cares. the odd thing is it was £80 a year for around 12 years never changed!

what a lot of spits ended up with the GT6 motor! my 6 has been giving me grief with the injection system but now parked up and tucked away for winter. Got myself a MK1 project now so looking forward to that.

do you know I was just going to ask you how is the injection system! LOL
I have restored a few TR6 in my time, great cars.
We used to put the straght 6 form a TC2000 or a dolomite 1850 engine whatver we could get our hands on spits / heralds for fun,
With the tr6 we used to pop in a Bosch fuel pump, as a matter of course, the lucas one is ok but just prone to BBQ'ing you in the car.
Oh the joys of pressure loss on triumph injection systems, they were ahead of their time....

That’s a good price on the Rrs mines £900 :(

Im nearly 50 full ncd we both have clean licence and my disco is last year was £650 this time round its near a grand wtf at this rate it going to have to go cant afford to insure it have tried all the usual suspects, and where we live if it snows bad its the only way we get on and off the estate :)

Ex and I always name each other as drivers, which definitely cuts premiums. I've recently playing on the comparethemarket site to insure a car in my Daughter's name. Tried lots of combinations, but adding me and her boyfriend was the cheapest combination.

Edit. Just in case anyone thinks that saving money by using Third Party (or that, fire and theft) - always check. For some weird reason Fully Comprehensive has always been much cheaper for me.
