Has anybody got a centre dash like mine if so how do you fit a 2 Din 7" radio and more to the point can I replace the centre console as the one I have has way too many switches fitted that dont do anything so think it would be easier to replace the console and fit the radio to that.

awwwwww c'mon somebody must know how I can either fit a 2 Din radio to this or know where I can buy a new centre console

You are not at all impatient, are you??
Get a tin box and mount it in the hole, with a few bits of wire going to it for the power and speakers, slide your wireless into the box aqfter connextin the bits of wire in the right places, then turn it on and enjoy listening to the Home Service.
Hope this helps :D:D

That looks like a standard TD5 dash to me. You could get something aftermarket to replace it but not my area.

Is it the right height for a double din stereo? Looks a little narrow height ways to me? If it fits just buy one, it will come with a cage, fit the cage then fit the stereo, simple.

Measurements will be on one of these

I was able to remove the two screws holding the bottom of the centre dash, and slide the radio under the centre dash and into the space behind it. the hole in the centre dash is the right height maybe a bit tight but height wise its ok, length wise the hole is too wide. I cant figure out how to remove the top two screws to completely remove the centre dash. So the radio will go in but the centre console needs to be changed as there are too many switches that dont do anything and the will look terrible once I actually get the radio in place

I've already brought the radio and the cage

You can get a facia to compensate for the difference in slot size and to extend out about half an inch, which might be enough.

woooo steady there auld chap facia's ??? the cage did come with one but it only adds about 5mm all round whats this inch your on about long time since I've been to school and we were metric back in the day anyway apart from the inch thing which I can deal with coz there are plenty online converters the rest of your post went straight over my head.
I really am of the opinion that the best course of action is to replace the hole centre console due to and I have mentioned this before the one I have has loads of switches that just dont do anything and the hole in the middle is both unsuitable for a normal sized radio or the high tech one I wish to fit. The problem is I have tried looking on line and I seem unable to find a centre console for a 2003 Defender TD5 HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP somebody please I needs me tunes in my wagon

That is the standard console for a TD5 Defender.

There are two types that will fit straight in, both require you to modify your standard center console.

Raptor Dash -

Keep in mind the space is VERY limited behind there even though it looks spacious so fitting a double din isnt always the best idea, since you already bought it Raptor is probable the best bet.

Thank you that looks like the very thing I need TD5 4 is the one I require still far too many switches but hey ho ya cant have everything. The Radio I have has a very shallow rear only about 10cm deep so plenty of room behind the dash for that type of radio. going to have a look at the MUD uk website now

I've had a quick search of the Mud web site but cant seem to find the ones in the box labelled Raptor Dash Panel Options even typed in TD5 4 nowt comes up, sorry for being a pain even though I'm very good at it

And to go back to the earlier point of how to get that central fascia off, take the top off the dash, then that exposes three screws along the top of the central fascia panel. You might be able to tidy the wiring up while you're at it and find the multiplug for the radio.

dont think I'll need to remove it now I've ordered a Raptor Facia just screws onto the front of it, dont it?

Dunno, I'm still using my bog standard TD5 one. Just thought I'd mention it as the screws along the top aren't obvious.
