I have just fitted two rear shocks and in the absense of a torque wrench how tight should I do them?, untill both bottom bushes are fully compressed or is that too tight?
I didn't think to check first to see how they were originally.

Shocker nuts USUALLY "bottom out" on a shoulder of the rod. This ploy means that the bushes get squished just right to rattle your bones on bumps.

Have a look and see if that is the case on yours.

If it is, you MUST tighten hard enough to make them bottom-out, and then just a tad more to secure them.
