I want to know how you get the seat off the base on a two door classic with the folding seats, its for my 72 rrc incase anyone doesnt know :p

I looked in haynes and my genuine B/L service manual and it doent even mention seats

I am planning on fitting the leather and foam from much later classic onto the top part of the old bases. I can see the bottom part of the base is bolted straight through the floor which is simple enough but how to get the top part off looks more tricky with only bolts on one side that I can see????

ffs I am not gonna get any usefull answers here am I , its the antfreeze thread all over again :p

how come you anything goes peple only respond to questions about the 72  :p

hahahaha, do they bolt from under the car. was only playing with you. so so so so ssssssssssssooooooorrrrrrryyyyyyyy if i up set you..

does the seat not all come out as one?

Im not 100% but do you not take a pin/bolt out the runners and slide the lot off backwards. Thats what I was going to do with mine but they wouldnt slide far enough because its bobtailed so hacked them to bits with a plasma cutter. I was fitting buckets though.

I certainly had mine off.

If its the same, I seem to remember that there are 4 bolts. 2 into the seat box and 2 into the transmission tunnel. Slide the seat fully back to expose the front 2 and fully forward to get to the rears.

My memory isn't what it was though so I'll look tomorrow.
Cheers

thanks mate, I couldnt see any in the tranny tunnel but I didnt look too hard , will have a better look tomorrow :)

Forget what I said, clearly my memory aint what it was:doh:

It is the seat base that bolts to the tranny tunnel. I must have taken mine out still attached.

Sorry m8

Cheers

Chris
