How long did you guys spend viewing/test driving your L322 before you bought it?

~I've so far compiled a list as long as your arm of things to check so could be there quite some time.......

No matter how long you look or the ammount of things you check I guarantee you will get caught out by something. Read some of Matt S's posts.

Hi mate, I spent 2 months searching for the right car, then spent 2 whole days at the dealership test driving and trying and checking everything and every button/feature out. I even took it to a workshop that was near the dealership so i could get a good luck under the car at the chassis and suspension etc... Its a long job but well worth it!!! If you check my previous posts you will find a monster list of things to check over on these range rovers.

I spent about an hour looking at mine - totally drove the seller mad, but I did notice things that weren't immediately obvious, like one of the electric wing mirrors not working, one of the hinges on the glove box broken etc. Its all stuff you can use to bargain prices down.

Things to definately check though:

Air suspension - switch between all the modes to check they work.
Steerings column adjustment - up and down as well as telescopic (I've broken my telescopic by bringing it too far out, apparently this is a common fault)
Steering vibration - if you can take it for a test drive and then hold it at about 60mph (approx 2000 RPM if cruising), if there is vibration then it often seems to be at about this speed. Might just need wheels balancing but could be something worse.
Uneven brake disc wear - sometimes the calipers stick 'on' and wear one brake more than others, this has happened to mine.
All the buttons in the car, including aircon.
Trip computer - average MPG - if its really low (10 or under IMO) then either there is something wrong or the last owner has ragged it everywhere.

I'm sure there are loads more things to check, but that is a few off the top of my head!
