Had my 110 under sealed with Dintrol at the beginning of the year by CSK but I've noticed recently quite a lot of it has now come off, especially around the rear cross member and the rear seat cross member, also peeling away in other places too. It's also not where its been pulled off by rough terrain either, literally just falls off with the tap of a hammer.

How long should it really last? I had my 90 done by Nene Overland when I first got it, that lasted a good 4 years before it started to really come off.

Edit -
I was recently quoted without permission or context.

Have you contacted them? They have a pretty good name so far as I can tell and I was pleased with the work done on mine, I'd be surprised if they wouldn't sort it out for you.

Like all coatings, prep is everything. Are you sure they got it thoroughly clean and degreased before application?

Funny how judgemental people can be on here. They are always stacked out with work and have a full suite of good reviews on Facebook as far as I can see. They built a very impressive 6x6 Defender starting with a brand new one, were working on a van for Will Young and were completing a defender for Keke Rosberg last time I was there.

Ring them first, give them the opportunity to put it right. If they won't then by all means come and slate them.

I think you are 'supposed' to detergent clean and steam clean followed by prepping remaining rust with Dinitrol 800 (if you follow the instructions), BUT if like me and most blokes you just throw the book away and give it a quick wipe before spraying, it should still stick pretty well, mine has no flakes after 2 years. Maybe it was too cold / damp when applied?

Right now I am not slating anyone at all for anything, just looking for a second opinion. I've met the fella a couple times at Landy shows and he is a good guy, lots of mates have used him from services to custom roll cages. As I said the vast majority is very good, its just bits, which are important, are flaking off in less than a year.

It was a wet drive up there so possible! Sent an email, if no reply by tomorrow I'll call

I don't think anyone slated them. Someone said his Dinitrol was coming off, and others suggested reasons that might be the case.

And facebook reviews are not a good yardstick of quality work, everyone has a dozen mates or employees that can leave reviews on a site.

LZ seniors, on the other hand, give impartial advice without renumeration, or backhanders, other than the odd bit of cake.

Although I have only heard good things about the company. It is apossible they may have just made a slight boo boo on @bankz5152 110, who knows until he gets a response from the company, which hopefully will get him the response he wants to hear and everybody involved will be happy.

However I do not consider FB or Celebrity customers a necessarily good vote for knowing a good job will be done.................:rolleyes:.....I try not to be led into buying stuff just because a celeb has it...........:p:p.

Cheers

Who the hell is Will Young? Was he Comp Safari Champion and I missed it!

Using the word slate was a mistake on my part, hadn't intended to come across as I have. I saw those vehicles first hand and am very happy with my own, but then I am not a safari champion either.

My point was intended to be that one phone call to them would give an answer of either 'that's not right bring it back to us' or a dismissal that would then lead to asking questions on here.

Must be my time of the month
