Afternoon, Everyone.

As per the title, really. I replaced the bonnet release cable on my 90 yesterday and it was an easy job. The only issue I have is how to get the clamp nut in the cabin tight. I can't get a spanner on it, even with the clutch pedal depressed out of the way.

Are there any tips or special techniques here?

Many thanks,

Dom

IIRC mine is a 17mm nut, and last time I replaced the cable I used a pair of 4" offset pipe pliers, and then when I did another one I cut down an old open ended imperial spanner and ground it to fit.
Don't forget to use the star washers ;);)
Hope this helps.

Many thanks for that. I'll see what I've got lurking in the garage and crack on! Just got side tracked changing the thermostat. It took ages to clean off the old gasket!

... However if you have a 'basin wrench' that is used for tightening taps onto sinks and baths and stuff llike that, I have a feeling that you problem wouuld be solved! :):)
