Started to put my cylinder head back together and I have discovered that the old roll pins are not playing ball and they wont allow the new hotspots in. So how do you get the old roll pins out? Will I need to get a jumbo box of swear words from Costco? Thanks

If you can't grip them to pull them out can you not use a fine punch to collapse them in on themselves to allow removal?

I can't remember what the access to them is like, have you got a picture?
If there is space you could drill them out or it has been know for easy outs to be used to remove roll pins BUT if you snap one in there you are in for a real headache!

Get a sharp spike, and tap it on them with a hammer, needle nose pliers to remove. Quality pliers, not Chinese 3 quid ones.

even if you tap hot spot in with a soft faced hammer

I tried one hotspot and I could see where the roll pin was hitting the bottom of the hotspot. I wonder if a bit of a chamfer on the roll pin will help.

Over here that is more of machine shop work. Ensure you are using four new hotspots. The lowest price I could find for OEM was shop4autoparts.

You're probably done with this, but if I remember correctly, when I did mine, I drifted them out a little from through the injector holes (or possibly glow plug holes) until enough stuck out to pull them with pliers.

Not yet, It's still sat in the garage while I am under orders to finish the front bedroom and being distracted by my new to me jag. I will give that a go. Thanks!
