I nearly opened myself to a whole world of flaming from the intolerant on here the other day ...............and deservedly so.
The clutch pedal on my 90 has always travelled a long way, almost to the floor before biting, but worked ok. More recently a bit more travel and the odd clunk selecting 1st gear.
Hmmmm, better ask the guys on the forum whats up! (I`m no mechanic).
Then I thought, `you better look at things first`. ;)
Found the clutch reservoir, ITS EMPTY
Bled the system of what was left (and there was some in the pipes), and replaced with new.
I now have a great clutch.
However, and this is my question, where did it all go? Can it evaporate over time? Reservoir, pipe and all underneath was bone dry.
Can it be leaking inside?

you may have a dodgy master cylinder. i have to top mine up every month or so it sometimes leaks down the pedal inside the cab

Hey Chico, I had exactly the same issue a few weeks ago. Finally got round to checking the reservour when gear changing got near impossible and yep, dry as a bone. Filled it up on the spot, without bleeding, and working fine now.:D

I read they self bleed over a few days, so I hope this is'nt another error.

Nearly finished servicing whole landy, but had'nt got round to the reservoir yet.

No indication of any leak, but as I had not checked it before, I have not idea if this loss was gradual. Does not seam to have lost any fluid in the last couple of weeks though.

It could be leaking into the servo unit and maybe getting sucked into the vac pump.

Its the clutch mate not the brakes :D:Dsnigger:D:D .

Its prob leaked into the bell housing , the clutch dust soaks it all up so the drain hole looks bone dry . Had the same with mine , you can't tell till you take off the slave .
