Evening all,

HID cleaning system for the MOT.......do the wipers have to work or are they just looking for a spray of water? My wiper motors drain the battery so I presume they're seized, I pulled the fuse a while back etc. With the MOT coming up I know I'll need to fit the fuse for the spray to work but will the spray be enough?

Thanks

They will need to work if they are fitted....IIRC the washers are integral to the wiper arm...so the arm must sweep the lens to get an adequate amount of fluid to clean lens.

Wiper battery drain is usually because they don't park correctly rather than seized....that's not to say motor seizure can't drain battery!

Early models have wipers. They MUST work as must the water jet. Later models just have high pressure water spray.

Thanks Guys,

They might not be seized at all then, as long as they sweep and wash. Can Allcoms reset them or can they be set up to park correctly?

Easiest way is to remove the wiper arm from the spindle, cycle the motor a few times till it parks, then refit the arm in the correct place....

What prevents it from parking is the arm gets caught at the bottom of the travel...if the arm is in the wrong place, the motor won't park.
