View attachment 106449 Just joined as a result of reading a Great Account of a Series 2a restoration by "90truckab",lovely "pics", and detailed write up, good reading.

Presently "laying my hat ", (For any of you Paul Young fans, should give you an idea of mi age), just north of Alicante, up in the hills.

Proud owner of a green 1965 Santana 88. From reading I¨m lead to believe from recent reading it could well be a Solihull "FlatPack¨, CKD (Complete Knocked Down kits) hope my "pics", upload ok

Look forward to enjoying the site and all that it has to offer

Hi Safari Chris,
Many thanks for your comment.(glad the "pics uploaded, Phew)
No I didn´t do the rebuild, a Spaniard did, took about 5 months, but there is still plenty to do as you can imagine the main problem in Spain is not rust but heat, anything rubber needs replacing, and he was having difficulty getting a hold of perishables.
Grateful of the roof though, love it.... as it is sooo basic, even the single wiper brings a smile, I believe an optional extra to have the two. No bonnet or fuel clasp so a very basic model.nor rear seats.

It was off the road for ten years, reading the Spanish ITV card (MOT) found with an olive tree that had fallen on its roof. recovered from a field and subsequently restored to the best of his ability.

Glad you like the Olde Boy, Girlfriend affectionately refers to him as "Percy", to answer your "Q", a little inland from San Joan. Looks very much "landy", am lead to believe more and more of the Santana´s parts were locally produced as the years progressed. besides the obvious grill and rear label and the horn these are the items that jump out as "Santana". Not sure about the rear lights, look a bit like Series 1

We may have driven past your house! We were staying in Coveta Fuma, near El Campello.

Many thanks to those who have appreciated what has been uploaded so far as I´ve suddenly been notified of"likes and trophy´s", not sure what it´s all about yet but thanks. I´m presently seeing to the likes of perished engine mounds, distorted leaf springs and drive shaft, noisy joints so hope to update soon with new "pics", as most of it is circa 65

Wow, small world :), El Campello, I take it you are back in "Blighty"?,
Ayrshire, Scotland. We've been in the area for holidays 3 times in the last few years, friends of ours go every year so we may be back sometime. :)
This was the first time we hired a car, well worth it to go inland for the likes of the Busot cave!

"Busot Cave!", now that´s a plan, lol, You´ll have to swing by the next time you´re across for jar or two, take it there are no need for directions? Ayrshire lovely part of the world, fond memories of catching the ferry to Larne
