I'm a recently retired ex-company car driver and wanted a vehicle I could maintain myself like back in the day. Purchased a restored '81 series 3 88 2.25 petrol from Land Rover Centre Huddersfield. Excellent service from them.
It had a niggling problem with air getting into the fuel lines that still persisted after I took it back and they replaced the pickup pipe and fuel pump. (A new Weber 34ICH carb had also been fitted.)
Some posts on this site were useful in tracking the problem down and I think it's resolved. When I'm certain it is I'll post what I did here as the fuel pipe from tank to pump seems to be obsolete so a more unconventional solution was used. In the process it's now able to use E10 fuel when I can no longer use E5.
Great site BTW.
